Overview
Complete your required behind-the-wheel training with A Advanced Driving School! We administer the official road test directly upon course completion, so you skip the long lines at the DMV.
Course Overview & Requirements
Our DMV-approved program consists of 14 total 50-minute periods (7 behind-the-wheel driving sessions + 7 observation sessions).
What You Need Before Starting:
Valid Virginia Learner’s Permit:
Must be held prior to starting behind-the-wheel instruction.
Proof of Classroom Completion:
Minors under 18 must present a 36-Hour Driver Education Classroom Completion Certificate (DTS 36). (Adults 18+ do not require classroom completion if taking behind-the-wheel).
What You Will Learn & Practice
Vehicle Operation & Control:
Steering, pedal control, parking techniques, and smooth braking.
Traffic & Highway Navigation
Navigating complex intersections, lane changing, and merging on highways around Richmond and New Kent.
Defensive Driving
Hazard identification, safe follow distances, and weather driving tactics.
Final DMV Road Test
Conducted by our certified instructors during your 7th session.
